How should I prepare for the ultrasound?
- No special patient preparation is required.
Ultrasound scope for adults:
- Thyroid gland
Ultrasound scope for children:
- cranial ultrasound
- neck soft tissues
- thyroid and parathyroid
- chest (thymus and pleural cavities evaluation)
- lymph nodes
- breast
- abdomen
- small bowel incl. intestinal wall thickness evaluation + mesenteric lymph nodes
- urinary system
- lesser pelvis (reproductive organs ultrasound through the abdominal wall)
- adrenal glands
- testis, epididymis and inguinal channels
- hip joints
- other joints (in the absence of trauma in the medical record)
- soft tissue changes (hemangiomas, nodules, other swellings)
Doppler ultrasound scope:
- liver and spleen incl. portal blood flow evaluation
- kidney blood vessels
- aortic and visceral vessels
- enous and arterial neck vessels
- cerebral vessels (transcranial)
- upper limb vessels (veins and arteries)
- lower limb vessels (veins and arteries)
- spermatic cords (varicocele diagnostics)
- transplanted organs (liver, kidney)
- lymph nodes
- focal lesions in soft tissues
